Conditions for NZ Cruise Ship Traveller eTA

An NZ eTA is not a visa, but cruise passengers with an approved NZ eTA are usually granted a visitor visa on arrival at their port of entry in New Zealand.
If you plan to leave the cruise ship to stay in New Zealand or fly out, you may need to apply for another visa and show proof of onward travel, such as a flight ticket.
Cruise ship crew members are not covered under the NZ eTA for passengers and must have a separate Crew eTA arranged by their employer or shipping company.

Document Requirements for NZ Cruise Ship Traveller eTA

Applicants for an NZ eTA as a cruise ship traveller must provide the following documents during the application process:

A Valid Passport: A clear scan of the passport biodata page is required. The passport must remain valid for at least 6 months beyond the eTA's NZ validity period.
